Our Story

I’m Martin McGinley, founder and lead coach. After 20 years in the fitness industry, I grew tired of watching gyms and trainers push people into extreme programmes that didn’t last.

During Covid, I started running small boot camps in a local park. What began with a few people quickly grew into packed sessions, and within a year, we opened our first studio.

Today, Five Gates has a thriving community in Glasgow’s West End, with hundreds of people improving their health and strength every week.

Our dream is simple: to help more people in Scotland discover the power of strength training, and to create a healthier, more confident community for the long term.
